“Wild” by Harry Love & The hell Stompers

Presents…

The song that was born in a bathroom mirror. A cry for mercy, and a wake-up call for the wandering.

Let me ask you something.

Have you ever looked in the mirror—really looked—and realized you’re not the person you thought you were? That moment when the lights are on, the house is quiet, and it’s just you… and God?

That’s what happened to Harry Love.
And that moment changed everything.

From Worship Pastor to Wandering Son

Harry didn’t start out running. He was raised in the church, steeped in worship, surrounded by truth. His father was a worship leader. He played guitar. He served on stage. He led others in songs to God… while his own heart slowly drifted away.

It happens to more people than we’d like to admit.

At age 20, Harry was serving as a full-time worship pastor. But sin doesn’t care about titles. It works quietly. He reconnected with an old friend and started drinking. What seemed small at first became a habit. Then a pattern. Then a prison.

And yet, on Sundays, he kept leading worship.

Jesus said, “These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.” (Matthew 15:8)

That was Harry. Maybe it’s you.

The Mirror That Didn’t Lie

It wasn’t a sermon or a song that broke him. It was a moment. One night, after drinking and trying to pull himself together, Harry walked into the bathroom to splash water on his face.

That’s when it happened.

He looked in the mirror and heard God speak:
“How long are you going to live like this?”

Not a booming voice. Not a guilt trip.
Just a question that pierced his soul.

And in that moment—he sobered up. Not just physically, but spiritually. He grabbed his keys and drove home. Not to clean himself up… but to finally surrender.

That’s the moment the song “Wild” was born.

The Meaning Behind “Wild”

“I was broke down, hood up, running wild—but not free.”

That’s not just a lyric. That’s a man confessing:
“I ran from God, I drowned my guilt in alcohol, I pretended to be okay—and I was completely enslaved.”

But that night, God didn’t leave him broken.

He surrounded Harry with men of God—pastors and brothers in Christ—who walked with him, held him accountable, and pointed him back to Jesus. He didn’t need religion. He needed redemption.

What About You?

Friend, maybe you’re in a season like Harry was.
You’re singing the songs but ignoring the Savior.
You’ve drifted. You’re numb. You’re “wild”—but you’re not free.

Let me ask you the same question God asked Harry:

“How long are you going to live like this?”

The truth is, sin is fun… for a season.
But that season always ends. And the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23)

But here’s the good news:
Jesus came to set the captives free. He took the punishment we deserved, died in our place, and rose again. Not so you could fake it—so you could be forgiven.

It’s Time to Come Home

Harry’s story isn’t just about falling. It’s about being found.

If you’re ready to stop running, stop pretending, and start living—listen to “Wild.”
Let it challenge you. Let it comfort you.
But most of all—let it point you back to Jesus.
