A first song, heard again

Falling in Love (Reimagined)

Matthew returned to one of the earliest songs in his catalog because the original production never fully matched the energetic sound he heard while writing it. Friends from school joined the process, and a session-player idea grew into a complete pop-rock reimagining.

01 · The night the direction changed

A quiet voice
became a calling.

Matthew grew up in church and around music, but anxiety kept him from singing in front of people. During the summer before his freshman year, faith became personal. Then, around a bonfire by the river, he began singing—slowly at first, then at the top of his lungs.

Later that night he told his dad that basketball was no longer the direction. He did not yet know how to play an instrument, but he believed God was calling him into music.

02 · Learning in community

The local church
became the classroom.

Beginning in eighth grade, Matthew joined the youth worship band at Cornerstone Church in Eldridge. There he learned guitar, piano, and drums, then began leading worship on Sundays.

03 · Songs for a people, not a platform

What began as one writer
became a culture.

After seeing the congregation respond to “Unending Praise,” Matthew’s pastor asked him to write more music for the church. The first goal was not commercial release. It was simple: give their own congregation something true to sing.

Matthew began writing with worship-team members and his aunt. A two-day gathering produced several songs, expanding the vision from one artist’s ministry into a collaborative life inside the church.

04 · The writing room widens

Learning to build
the sound from inside.

After years of working with producer and fellow Christian artist Curtis Ray, Matthew began learning production himself. Collaboration remains central: musicians trade ideas, arrangements grow, and early sketches become recordings that can serve beyond the room where they began.
