Tyler Philip Ratcliffe Releases New Christian Folk Anthem “Fishers of Men”

kingdomchorus | June 5, 2026

Tyler Philip Ratcliffe’s new single “Fishers of Men” is out now, delivering a heartfelt Christian folk worship anthem about surrender, discipleship, and following Jesus without turning back.

Christian singer-songwriter Tyler Philip Ratcliffe has released his latest single, “Fishers of Men,” a warm and deeply personal Christian folk worship song centered on the call of Jesus to leave the old life behind and follow Him completely.

Released on June 5, 2026, “Fishers of Men” captures the heart of Christian discipleship through acoustic guitars, banjo, electric guitar textures, and organic folk-inspired production. The song carries a simple but powerful message: when Jesus calls, the only faithful response is surrender.

Written by Tyler Philip Ratcliffe, “Fishers of Men” was first created in July of 2024. At the time, Tyler did not know the song would become a turning point in his musical direction.

“I actually wrote this one back in July of 2024,” Tyler shares. “It was the first Christian folk-style song I’d ever written, and I had no idea God was going to pull me in that direction. ‘Fishers of Men’ has been a favorite among friends and family since then, and God recently laid it on my heart to share it with the rest of the world.”

The song draws from the biblical image of Jesus calling ordinary men to become His disciples. With lines like, “The day I dropped my nets down at the docks with no regrets,” Tyler places the listener directly inside the moment of decision. It is a song about stepping away from comfort, security, and the approval of others in order to follow Christ with a whole heart.

At its core, “Fishers of Men” is not only about the first disciples. It is about every believer who has heard the call of Jesus and felt the cost of obedience.

The chorus becomes the central prayer of the song:

“Jesus, I just wanna be
One of Your fishers of man
So I will follow where You lead me
When I don’t understand.”

That confession gives the song its emotional weight. “Fishers of Men” speaks to Christians who have moved beyond lukewarm faith and into a deeper, more surrendered walk with God. It is a song for believers who want to follow Jesus even when the road is uncertain, even when others do not understand, and even when obedience requires sacrifice.

“The messaging is simple,” Tyler says. “I want to follow Christ, even if it leads me to take up my own cross, I will bear it gladly for Him. I think a lot of us have stepped out of the lukewarm group, into the sold-out, on-fire followers and can relate to this song.”

Musically, “Fishers of Men” blends the honesty of modern worship with the storytelling spirit of Christian folk. Tyler’s acoustic guitars form the foundation of the track, while banjo from Paul Tooley, electric guitars from Franco Peralta, and keys and programming from Lucas Perez help give the song a rich and earthy sound. The production by Lucas Perez and mixing by Splash Of Soda allow the message to remain clear, intimate, and worshipful.

The bridge lifts the song into a moment of awe and gratitude:

“Oh, what an offer
To be a part of the greatest story ever told
And oh, what an honor
To stand by You, the Great I Am.”

That lyric captures the larger invitation behind the song. Following Jesus is costly, but it is also an honor. “Fishers of Men” reminds listeners that discipleship is not just about leaving something behind. It is about being invited into the work, story, and kingdom of God.

With “Fishers of Men,” Tyler Philip Ratcliffe continues to establish his voice in Christian music through songs that are rooted in Scripture, sincere in worship, and honest in personal conviction. The song is a strong fit for listeners who connect with Christian folk, acoustic worship, CCM, and songs about surrender, calling, revival, and bold faith.

“Fishers of Men” is out now on streaming platforms.
